We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team at Danmarks Tekniske Universitet (DTU) in the field of electric vehicle charging and power system flexibility. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of innovative solutions for the integration of electric vehicles into the power grid, with a focus on quantifying the flexibility potential of different EV charging hubs and investigating synergies between EV charging processes and renewable energy generation.
Responsibilities- Quantify the flexibility potential of different EV charging hubs, both public and private, including light- and heavy-duty vehicles
- Investigate possible synergies between the EV charging processes and the renewable energy generation and propose new methods to exploit them
- Quantify their combined impact on the power system and find the optimal location to maximize their usage and minimize their grid impact
- Investigate innovative charging technologies that can be combined with renewable energy sources and provide flexibility to the power system
- PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline with focus on energy systems
- Strong programming skills (MATLAB and/or Python)
- Experience with data analysis, visualization, and applied statistics
- Knowledge of electric vehicle technology and innovative charging technologies
- Dynamic modeling and simulation of power systems components at distribution level
