Join us as a Research Professor in Nutrient Pharmacology at the Department of Biomedical Sciences In this exciting role, you will contribute to advancing our understanding of nutrient pharmacology and its applications in biomedicine.
The Department of Biomedical Sciences is dedicated to interdisciplinary research and education, bringing together faculty from medicine and natural sciences. Our staff is passionate about integrating basic and translational biomedicine, delivering high-quality research-based and clinically relevant undergraduate teaching, supervising postgraduate students, and collaborating with laboratory technicians and administrative staff.
As a Research Professor in Nutrient Pharmacology, your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting and supervising research in the scope of biological activity of nutrients, focusing on in vitro pharmacology.
- Participating in publication/academic dissemination and attraction of external funding.
- Contributing to research-based and student-activating teaching within our portfolio of courses.
To excel in this role, you should have:
- A PhD in molecular biology, biotechnology, molecular pharmacology, or related fields.
- Substantial experience in in vitro studies of biological activity of nutrients, pharmacology studies of G protein-coupled receptors, and studies in insulin and incretin hormones secreting cell lines.
- A keen interest in teaching, particularly in biochemistry-related subjects.
- A history of high-quality research demonstrated by peer-reviewed publications and securing external funding through successful grant applications.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in a team environment.
- Exceptional English language skills in both written and spoken forms.

- Food sciences, including in vitro simulations of food digestion.
- In vitro suspension and 3-dimensional cell cultures, including primary tissues, and kinetic methods of secretion assessment.
- Teaching qualifications and experience in research-based teaching.
