Postdoctoral Position in Sociology of Food

The Department of Anthropology and Department of Sociology at the University of Copenhagen invite applications for a postdoctoral position in Sociology of Food. The position is part of the project "The crisis of habits and new figurations of food" funded by the Danish Independent Research Fund.

About the Project

The project explores the provisioning of meals across generations and how different degrees of plasticity in food habits can inform a theoretical reconfiguration of habits. The postdoc will work closely with the project members to investigate resistance to changing food habits in a generation that has grown up in a period of vast economic growth.

Job Content

The postdoc will carry out fieldwork in Denmark among empty nesters to investigate how they figure the relation between territories and food in their everyday practices. The research will rely on qualitative fieldwork and social scientific analysis.
