Salary
The successful candidate can expect a highly competitive salary, commensurate with experience and qualifications, ranging from approximately €60,000 to €80,000 per annum, depending on seniority.
Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced scientist to join our team at the Department of Ecoscience. As a researcher in marine mammal ecology, you will be responsible for conducting cutting-edge research on the dynamics of toothed whale contaminant loads linked to environmental variability.
You will be part of a dynamic research group with a strong focus on interdisciplinary collaboration, working closely with colleagues from diverse backgrounds to advance our understanding of the complex relationships between marine ecosystems and human activities.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- A PhD degree in biology, environmental chemistry, chemistry, or a related field
- Experience with writing scientific publications and presenting research findings
- Expertise in contaminant analysis, stable isotopes, and fatty acids surveys
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in R programming language
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment, including ICP-MS, MC-ICP-MS, and GC-IRMS
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Fluency in English (speaking and writing)
