Marine Ecosystem Services Researcher Position

Unlock the Secrets of Marine Biodiversity
We are seeking a highly skilled researcher to join our team at Aarhus University and contribute to the development of innovative methods for monitoring, modeling, and assessing marine ecosystem services.
The successful candidate will work within the framework of the QESMAR project, aiming to establish a standardized assessment framework for efficiently quantifying achieved ecosystem services in connection with marine nature restoration projects. Key responsibilities include collaborating with PhD students to develop tools for monitoring and quantifying various ecosystem services associated with marine restoration projects.
Responsibilities:
- Field-based monitoring using conventional and molecular techniques
- Investigations in different restored habitats (seagrass meadows, kelp forests, mussel reefs)
- Collaboration with the marine biodiversity monitoring group and external partners
- Contributing to strengthen the competences of the Danish national center for marine restoration
Requirements:
- PhD in marine ecology, biology, environmental sciences, or similar
- Expert knowledge on benthic ecology and biodiversity
- Experience with marine restoration and fieldwork
- Publications in high-ranking journals
- Good collaboration skills and ability to work in an interdisciplinary team
