Acoustic Researcher Position in Marine Mammal Science

Seeking a highly motivated researcher to join our team at the Department of Biology's Marine Bioacoustics lab. As an Acoustic Researcher, you will work on designing, calibrating, and utilizing large-aperture hydrophone arrays for quantifying toothed whale echolocation clicks.

The selected candidate will also perform quantitative analysis of ambient noise and draft peer-reviewed manuscripts based on their results. The ideal candidate should hold a PhD in bioacoustics, physics, or engineering, with expertise in quantitative acoustics, calibration, programming, and signal processing.

A strong background in marine field experience and boat handling skills is advantageous. The ability to publish first-author papers and proficiency in spoken and written English are essential. Our lab offers a collaborative research environment with access to cutting-edge equipment and a dynamic team of researchers and students.
