Job Description

The Department of Energy Conversion and Storage at Danmarks Tekniske Universitet (DTU) invites applications for a 3-year PhD position to work on the development of new solid-state batteries, focusing on composite solid electrolytes and electrodes.

This is a research-intensive position where you will contribute to the advancement of solid-state battery technology. Your primary responsibilities include:

  • Materials Synthesis: Design, develop, and optimize novel composite solid electrolytes and electrodes using various synthesis methods.
  • Electrochemical Characterization: Perform electrochemical characterization of materials, including Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy analysis of ionic conductivity and charge/discharge of full solid-state battery cells.
  • Structural and Thermal Analysis: Conduct structural, thermal, and morphological characterization of synthesized materials using powder diffraction, thermal analysis, electron microscopy, and other techniques.
  • Operando Studies: Carry out in situ and operando studies using synchrotron X-ray diffraction and imaging to investigate structural and transport properties of solid-state batteries.

You will be working closely with an experienced team of researchers and have access to state-of-the-art facilities and equipment.
