The Role

As a Data Governance Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing data governance policies and practices, ensuring our data management processes align with regulatory requirements and support our business goals. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, legal, and compliance departments, to implement and maintain effective data governance frameworks and tools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain data governance frameworks to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations such as GDPR and HIPAA, conducting regular assessments and audits to identify and address any issues.
  • Maintain high data quality standards, addressing governance issues, and implementing solutions to effectively manage data management challenges.
  • Identify data-related risks and develop strategies to mitigate potential data breaches and compliance issues.
  • Provide guidance and training on data governance best practices and regulatory requirements, ensuring teams across the organization are well-informed and compliant.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and regulations, proposing enhancements to data governance practices and tools to ensure ongoing effectiveness and compliance.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in a technical role focused on data governance or compliance, with a robust background in data management.
  • Expertise in data governance tools and technologies, including data anonymization, encryption, and big data technologies.
  • Proficiency in using Python and SQL for data quality checks.
  • In-depth understanding of global data protection regulations and privacy standards.
