Compliance Risk and Controls Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance Framework and Governance Lead to join our Ethics & Compliance team at Centrica plc. As a key member of the team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the compliance framework and operating model are managed, maintained, and adhered to.
The successful candidate will have a high degree of exposure to senior management and be responsible for managing and maintaining the compliance framework and all Centrica Energy's key compliance management fora. You will also be required to join Leadership level compliance meetings as secretariat and manage actions/outputs.
Key Responsibilities- Support the implementation and maintenance of the compliance framework, policy library, and obligations register.
- Draft, review, and update compliance policies and procedures, ensuring accurate documentation of compliance tasks and decisions.
- Assist with compliance testing plans and periodic/trigger-based control testing.
- Support the compliance risk assessment process and communicate key updates relating to compliance reviews.
- Prepare management information (MI) for the Head of Ethics & Compliance and committee reports.
- Manage the compliance curriculum, ensuring all training is up-to-date and delivered to the business on time.
- Provide support for internal and external audit queries and assist with KYC file quality checks for the Financial Crime Team.
We are looking for a compliance professional with strategic, technical, economics, or legal qualifications and a problem-solving mindset who can utilize their strong written and verbal communication skills to successfully build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have experience gained within a compliance function, preferably in the energy sector or financial services, and an understanding of the regulatory landscape (i.e., REMIT, MAR, MIFID) and experience of applying regulatory obligations to the successful execution of their function/team or role.
They will also have an understanding of financial crime and Know Your Customer processes and advanced computer literacy (primarily MS Office).
