About the Department of Clinical Medicine

Aarhus University's Faculty of Health is home to the Department of Clinical Medicine, a leading institution for health science research in Denmark. Our department boasts an impressive 30,000 square meters of modern research facilities, enabling us to conduct cutting-edge experimental surgery and medicine, as well as advanced animal studies.

We have approximately 425 academic staff members and just as many PhD students working together across disciplines. This collaborative environment fosters innovation and knowledge-sharing, making us one of the largest health science research institutes in Denmark.

The Department of Clinical Medicine is responsible for the Master's degree programmes in medicine and molecular medicine, further solidifying our position as a premier research institution.

About TNU

TNU (Translational Neuropsychiatry Unit) is part of the Department of Clinical Medicine at Aarhus University's Faculty of Health. Our unit is located at AUH Skejby, where we currently employ 45 individuals, mostly engaged in scientific work. The laboratories are equipped to accommodate three bioanalysts/laboratory technicians.

Our basic research focuses on neuropharmacology, cell and molecular biology, with a team of researchers including professors, associate professors, postdocs, PhD students, Master's thesis students, and research year students. As a Research Bioanalyst/Laboratory Technician, you will be working within the areas covered by TNU.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Extraction of DNA/RNA/miRNA from various samples
  • Real-time qPCR analysis for precise gene expression measurement
  • Western blotting to detect specific proteins in cell lysates
  • ELISA-analyser for sensitive immunoassay detection
  • Cloning techniques for precise gene manipulation
  • Cell experiments, including cellular culture and differentiation
  • In situ hybridisation for localising mRNA expression
  • Autoradiographs for visualising radioactive probes
  • Setting up and optimising new methods to enhance laboratory efficiency

You will also participate in basic result processing using relevant software, ensuring accurate data collection and analysis.

Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of approximately €50,000 - €60,000 per annum, depending on your qualifications and experience.
