This PhD-project aims to develop a scientifically valid absolute environmental sustainability assessment (AESA) model for ICT systems. The successful candidate will work towards a greener world by enabling the development of green ICT technologies. This position offers an excellent opportunity to collaborate with leading researchers in the field of communications and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct studies on energy consumption of ICT networks and data centres.
- Investigate the CO2 footprint of sending information.
- Develop an absolute environmental sustainability assessment model to evaluate the overall climate impact of ICT services.
- Work towards a standardized evaluation tool for ICT services and equipment.
Requirements:
- A two-year master's degree or equivalent with a relevant background in communication networks or climate footprint evaluations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
