About the role:

We are seeking an experienced ESG Controller to join our team at Maersk Group - A.P. Møller Mærsk. This is an exciting opportunity for a knowledge-seeking and ambitious professional who wishes to achieve insight into the diverse activities and grow within our organization.

The ESG Controller will be responsible for ensuring integrity, accuracy, and completeness of our ESG reporting, identifying opportunities to improve our ways of working, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively execute reporting processes at group level; complete and secure correct and unbiased reporting to key decision-makers;
  • Be a competent advisor on reporting and consolidation issues for different businesses' finance and reporting functions;
  • Conduct consolidation and reporting of ESG data, including external reporting of Sustainability key figures;
  • Collaborate and play a key role in implementing CSRD reporting requirements and EU taxonomy;
  • Prepare and update reporting instructions according to IFRS and Sustainability regulations;
  • Drive execution of ad-hoc initiatives and participate in projects;
  • Challenge existing processes to improve and automate, reducing non-value adding activities;
  • Facilitate audit process and assurance of ESG reporting;
  • Foster link between sustainability and finance;

Requirements:

  • Hold relevant financial degree (e.g., Master's degree or Graduate diploma in Accounting) with passion for ESG reporting;
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in financial or non-financial reporting, controlling, or auditing large/medium-sized companies;
  • Strong functional knowledge of consolidation and reporting is a must;
  • Knowledge and experience around CSRD and EU Taxonomy is an advantage but not a requirement;
  • Identify potential issues associated with unusual or complex transactions and review/approve treatment;
  • Collaborate, bring structure, and drive improvements while maintaining controls;
  • Communicate effectively with various stakeholders across the organization;
  • Have solid understanding of data audit and controlling, keen interest in advancing skills within sustainability reporting;
  • Produce high-quality results, combining attention to detail with holistic overview;
  • Work independently and with the team, acting as proactive advisor to various stakeholders;
  • Enjoy working towards goals, taking ownership of assignments, and thriving in dynamic environments with competing priorities;
  • Fluency in English is a prerequisite.

What We Offer:

Competitive salary range: €85,000 - €110,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
