Postdoctoral Researcher in Microbial Ecology of Natural Products

The DTU CeMiSt Center is looking for a highly skilled postdoctoral researcher to join their team working on the ecology of microbial secondary metabolites.

As a specialist in chemical ecology and natural products, you will be responsible for identifying and characterizing bioactive metabolites and their biosynthetic gene clusters from actinomycetes isolated from sampling sites in Dyrehaven. You will also develop, implement, and interpret assays to assess the chemical ecology of these metabolites in shaping microbial communities.

You will work closely with Professors Tilmann Weber and Ling Ding, and collaborate with colleagues at CeMiSt to survey the available literature and formulate scientific hypotheses.

A formal qualification for this position is a PhD degree, and we are seeking candidates with strong backgrounds in natural products, documented practical experience in chemical ecology, and molecular biology or genetic engineering of natural product biosynthetic pathways.
