Programme Assistant

The World Health Organization (WHO) is looking for an experienced Programme Assistant to join our team in Copenhagen, Denmark. This role will provide administrative support to the Administrative Services and Conferences unit, ensuring the smooth flow of work related to administrative activities. The successful candidate will have excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to multitask and work under pressure.
As a Programme Assistant, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to the unit, ensuring timely completion of tasks and effective management of multiple priorities. You will coordinate actions with other support staff in the Unit and in consultation with the Assistants to other Heads of Unit and Director. You will also analyze incoming correspondence and requests, identifying areas requiring action by team members and drawing their attention to specific items.
We offer a competitive remuneration package, including annual net base salary starting at DKK 344,273, and 30 days of annual leave.

Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the unit, ensuring timely completion of tasks and effective management of multiple priorities.
- Coordinate actions with other support staff in the Unit and in consultation with the Assistants to other Heads of Unit and Director.
- Analyze incoming correspondence and requests, identifying areas requiring action by team members and drawing their attention to specific items.
- Draft general or administrative correspondence on own initiative or as per instructions, verifying that outgoing correspondence is presented in line with WHO standards.
Qualifications
- Completion of secondary school education.
- At least five years of work experience in secretarial or administrative positions.
- Expert knowledge of English.
- Strong skills to work independently, with organization and office skills, as well as note taking and minute writing.
- Sound knowledge of WHO and/or UN administrative rules and regulations, procedures and practices.
