Job Description

We are seeking a highly qualified Professor of Palaeoproteomics to join our team at the Globe Institute. The successful candidate will have a strong background in palaeoproteomics, with a focus on the development and application of new methods for analysing ancient proteins.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research in palaeoproteomics, with a focus on the development of new methods for analysing ancient proteins.
  • Develop and teach courses on palaeoproteomics and related topics.
  • Supervise students and junior colleagues.
  • Attract and manage externally funded research grants.
  • Publicly disseminate research outcomes.
  • Contribute to academic governance at the departmental and faculty levels.
Requirements
  • PhD in a relevant field, such as molecular biology, biological anthropology, or a related discipline.
  • Excellent track record of original research in palaeoproteomics.
  • Experience in developing and applying palaeoproteomics to palaeontology, palaeoanthropology, and cultural heritage conservation.
  • Experience in conceiving and leading multiple large-scale research-based training networks.
  • Proven track record of directing and delivering courses at all academic levels.
  • Demonstrated experience in supervising students and junior colleagues.
  • Demonstrated experience as a research group leader for at least five years.
  • Proven track record of obtaining funding through competitive calls.
  • Experience in academic governance, at a minimum at the departmental level.
  • Excellent track record of communicating research to scientific peers and the wider public.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Responsibility for and contribution to well-being, collaboration, equal treatment, diversity, and a good working environment.
Terms of Employment

The position is a permanent position, with an average weekly working hours of 37 hours per week. Salary and other terms and conditions of appointment are set in accordance with the Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and AC (Danish Confederation of Professional Associations) or other relevant professional organisations.

The position is covered by the Job Structure for Academic Staff at Universities 2020.
