Oxygen Dynamics in Biomass Degradation: A Postdoctoral Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our team investigating oxygen dynamics in enzymatic degradation of biomaterials. The position is part of the Novo Nordisk Foundation funded project "OxyMiST," which focuses on the role of oxygen in microbial secretomes during plant cell wall turnover.

The successful candidate will contribute to our research on the effects of reactive oxygen species on biomass degradation. They will analyze data from oxygen-controlled equipment and develop new methods for improving enzymatic degradation processes.

This project offers an excellent opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary team and to contribute to the development of new technologies for utilizing forest or agricultural products in a green bioeconomy.

Key Tasks:

  • Conduct experiments on enzymatic degradation of wood and wheat straw.
  • Develop and implement statistical models for analyzing reactive oxygen species.
  • Collaborate with researchers using biomasses, pretreatments, and enzymes at IGN.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in a relevant field (biochemistry, biology, environmental science).
  • Experience with enzymatic processes and biomass degradation.
  • Experience with oxygen-controlled equipment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
