Job Description

This PhD project focuses on investigating the economic potential of airborne wind energy in the European electricity system. The project aims to understand the conditions and scenarios where airborne wind energy can feasibly contribute to the European energy system.

The researcher will be responsible for developing an AWE system engineering tool that can be used to generate power generation time series, cost, and other information suitable for Balmorel. The tool should allow the project to investigate how different AWE innovations impact power generation, capital costs, and O&M costs.

The project will consider various power and energy system scenarios and applications, including new technologies like power-to-X and energy storage.
