We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled PhD candidate to join our team at DTU. In this project, you will be working on advanced controls for energy demand flexibility in buildings, focusing on enhancing energy efficiency and flexibility through data-driven energy management techniques.

Job DescriptionThe main goal of the project is to investigate the impact and scalability of advanced control strategies for building energy management. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and testing advanced control techniques, such as MPC and RL, for building energy flexibility
- Collaborating with industry partners to integrate the developed algorithms into their building management systems
- Assessing the outcomes of the implemented control strategies and identifying avenues for enhancement
To excel in this project, you should possess a solid understanding of building physics, HVAC systems, and advanced controls. Your essential skills and qualifications comprise:
- Proficiency in building physics and HVAC systems
- Experience with advanced controls (e.g., MPC, RL)
- Programming skills (e.g., Python, R, MATLAB)
- Background in built environment monitoring
