Copenhagen, Copenhagen, Denmark Københavns Universitet (KU) Full time
Our Mission
Københavns Universitet (KU) aims to bring together research excellence to harness the therapeutic potential in stem cell medicine. We address fundamental questions in stem cell and developmental biology and translate research findings into products that help patients with incurable disorders such as congenital kidney disorders, chronic ulcerative disorders, neurological disorders, and diabetes.

Job Responsibilities
As a research assistant, you will play a key role in developing new therapies for patients with disorders such as ulcerative colitis. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Adapting our current cell culture conditions to be GMP compatible.
  • Developing standard operating procedures for culturing intestinal epithelial organoids.
  • Supporting the transition from the laboratory to a GMP facility.
  • Establishing transplantation methods suitable for patients.
  • Evaluating safety and efficacy of the cellular products.
  • Establishing quality control and release criteria measurement of the cellular product.

Qualifications and Requirements
You should have a Master's degree in Life Sciences and experience from a relevant field such as stem cell biology and regenerative medicine. A strong background in cellular and molecular biology and a FELASA EU function ABD license are seen as strong advantages. Previous experience with culturing human intestinal organoids is strongly preferred, as is experience with suspension cultures and tissue dissociation. Fluency in English is essential, while fluency in Danish is an advantage. You should also possess a solution-oriented, organizational, and positive mindset, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a highly interdisciplinary and international team.
