Position Overview:

As a Senior Investment Associate, you will have the unique opportunity to spearhead and manage portfolio activities, overseeing the entire investment lifecycle from origination and qualification to the successful closing of deals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with Partners and the Rockstart team to generate leads, source, assess, and develop new investment opportunities within Rockstart ventures.
  • Conduct thorough research on companies and market trends to refine and enhance fund investment strategies.
  • Identify pressing social issues where impact venture investments can facilitate the scaling of innovative solutions, including through the analysis of tech-enabled impact business models.
  • Engage with a lean team and connect with Rockstart's broader organization to manage deal pipeline processes and tools effectively.
  • Assist the investment team in gathering, analyzing, and categorizing portfolio data based on qualitative and quantitative metrics to monitor performance and provide periodic reports.
  • Prepare and recommend capital allocation strategies in collaboration with the Partners.
  • Draft investment recommendations and documentation for the Investment Committee.
  • Ensure that investments align with Rockstart's criteria for successful follow-on investments.
  • Build and nurture relationships throughout the venture capital ecosystem, syndicating follow-on investments and sharing deal flow with relevant investors.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in venture capital or related transactions.

  • Genuine passion for early-stage startups and a desire to excel in venture capital and entrepreneurship.
  • Exceptional communication skills in English, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A solid understanding or keen interest in the sustainability sector.
  • A master's degree in business, finance, or economics, or significant entrepreneurial experience in a VC-backed startup.
  • An established network of startups and mentors within the Nordic Venture Community.
