Job Description

The IT University of Copenhagen invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the rank of full professor in the field of Computer Science and Data Science.

The proposed starting date is December 2024 or soon thereafter.

The IT University's vision is to create and share knowledge that is profound and leads to groundbreaking information technology and services for the benefit of humanity. The Computer Science Department seeks to conduct research and education that are both foundational and have impact on industry and society.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to research and education in Computer Science and Data Science
  • Develop strategy and mentor junior faculty and postdocs in the applied-for area
  • Attract external research funding and build external collaboration in joint research projects
  • Develop and conduct excellent teaching at university level
  • Conduct research in Computer Science or Data Science, especially within one of the following fields: image analysis and machine learning, network science, or theoretical computer science
Qualification Requirements
  • PhD or similar in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, Computational Mathematics, Computational Physics, or a closely related field
  • Research experience in one of the above-mentioned fields
  • Excellent teaching and research skills
  • Ability to attract external research funding and build external collaboration
Application Procedure

  • A motivated application (cover letter), including a detailed description of your qualifications and brief statements of research and teaching plans
  • A full CV, including name, address, phone number, e-mail, previous and present employment and academic background
  • Documentation of academic degrees (copy of degree certificates etc.)
  • A short plan outlining and arguing for the intended research and teaching initiatives and engagements
  • A memorandum stating your most important scientific work relevant to the position and your contribution to such work
  • Copies of max. 5-10 different publications or other research contributions at a high international level in well-respected peer reviewed venues

The applicant will be accessed according to the Appointment Order from the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation of 13 March 2012.
