Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our team at the Department of Neuroscience, University of Copenhagen. The successful candidate will be involved in a project focused on understanding the generation and functions of theta oscillations in spatial navigation using systems neuroscience and population-level approaches.

The project involves conducting Neuropixels recordings from awake rodents, performing circuit manipulation, and analyzing spiking data at the population level. This research will take place at the Department of Neuroscience at the University of Copenhagen in Dr. Peter C. Petersen's lab. The successful applicant will join a diverse, interdisciplinary team of neuroscientists and data analysts and will be part of a thriving international neuroscience environment at UCPH.

About the Role:

  • Design and perform experiments, develop technical advances, perform data analysis, and present results.
  • Conduct independent research of high international quality, including publications and other research outputs.
  • Collaborate with lab members and other project participants.
  • Assist with student supervision.

Our Team:

We are a dynamic group of researchers dedicated to advancing our understanding of the brain's memory mechanisms. Our lab was founded in 2022 with the goal of understanding the neuronal mechanisms involved in memory and cognition and how imbalances in the circuits can lead to pathological conditions.

Requirements:

  • PhD in Neuroscience or related sciences.
  • Experience in electrophysiology.
  • Active interest in brain's memory mechanisms.
  • Data analysis skills, particularly with single cells.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Fluent English language skills.
