Backend Engineer for Peakon Platform

We are seeking a skilled Backend Engineer to contribute to the development and evolution of the Peakon platform. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in technical and functional discussions, working closely with peers and engineering leads to set the technical direction for the product.
Responsibilities- Contribute to the development and evolution of the Peakon platform.
- Participate in technical and functional discussions within the team.
- Work closely with peers and engineering leads to set the technical direction for the product.
- Collaborate with other engineers, designers, QAs, and the product manager to deliver exciting and impactful features for employees across all levels at companies who use Peakon every day.
- Build features that help employees drive the change they want to see at their workplace.
- Regularly review and discuss other engineer's code.
- Contribute to architectural discussions with other engineers across all levels.
- Use your technical expertise to contribute towards building a best-in-class product.
We make it a priority to stay on the cutting edge of tech. Our tech stack centers around JavaScript, with Node.js on the server and React on the frontend. We have recently introduced TypeScript to prevent runtime errors in our frontend applications. We believe there is great value in a shared toolchain, so we use AWS, PostgreSQL (through RDS), Redis, and ElasticSearch for storage.
About You- You have 1-3 years of experience with backend development.
- You have worked in a team setting, using collaborative tools for version control, code reviews, and project management.
- You are familiar with a Node.js based ecosystem or willing to put in the extra work at the beginning to make the switch.
- You have experience building web applications with an understanding of scalability, high availability, latency, and throughput.
- You have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
We offer flexible work arrangements, allowing you to create a schedule that caters to your business, team, and personal needs. You'll spend at least half of your time each quarter in the office or in the field with customers, prospects, and partners. This enables us to deepen connections, maintain a strong community, and do our best work.
Salary RangeThe estimated salary range for this position is between $120,000 and $180,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
