Seeking Aquatic Biologist or Ecologist for Tenure-Track Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented aquatic biologist or ecologist to join our team as a tenure-track assistant, associate, or full professor at Aarhus University. The successful candidate will have a strong research background in aquatic biology and ecology and demonstrate the potential to lead research groups and secure external funding.
Aquatic biology and ecology are interdisciplinary fields that encompass the study of freshwater and marine ecosystems, including their physical, chemical, and biological processes. As an aquatic biologist or ecologist at Aarhus University, you will contribute to the development of innovative research projects and collaborate with colleagues from various disciplines to advance our understanding of aquatic ecosystems.
The position involves teaching and supervising students at both undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as contributing to departmental duties such as participating in committees and public outreach initiatives. You will be part of a vibrant and informal research environment with a long-standing tradition for collaboration with international university partners.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct high-quality research in aquatic biology and ecology, publishing in leading scientific journals and securing external funding.
- Develop and teach courses in aquatic biology and ecology, as well as supervise students at undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Participate in departmental duties, including committee work and public outreach initiatives.
To be considered for this position, you must have a strong research background in aquatic biology and ecology, with a demonstrated track record of publications in high-level scientific journals and personal research grants. You should also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues from various disciplines.
A relevant Ph.D. degree is required, as well as experience in teaching and supervision. Documented pedagogical qualifications are not mandatory but will be an advantage. If not already holding formal pedagogical qualifications, candidates are required to obtain pedagogical training at Aarhus University once appointed.

Salary and BenefitsThe annual salary for this position is approximately DKK 603,689 (around $92,500 USD), which is commensurate with your qualifications and experience. In addition to your salary, you will receive a range of benefits, including:
