Role Overview:

As a Supervisor at JD Sports Fashion plc, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our customers receive exceptional service by leading a team of sales staff. Your primary objective will be to maximize store profitability by exceeding sales targets and utilizing in-store devices effectively. You will also contribute to a successful store team by upholding store standards and guidelines, training new team members, and supporting in administrative duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead by example, prioritizing customer satisfaction and ensuring a positive shopping experience.
  • Maintain and improve the level of customer service, acknowledging customers and maintaining a consistent awareness of their needs.
  • Select and recommend products to customers, directing them to or bringing alternatives as applicable.
  • Ensure customers are aware of new stock and products they may require in the future.
  • Encourage customers to return soon by providing courteous, considerate, and responsible service.

Sales and Merchandising:

  • Attend to and sell to as many customers as possible, dealing with and selling to multiple customers at a time when necessary.
  • Become familiar with the layout of all stock presented and held to maximize potential sales.
  • Ensure up-to-date promotions and product presentations are carried out as directed.
  • Call for and accept assistance when needed, promoting teamwork.
  • Utilize effective selling skills, including the introduction of accessories.

Visual Merchandising and Store Standards:

  • Assist in maintaining store standards on the shop floor.
  • Keep stock clean and presentable at all times.
  • Replenish stock levels when necessary, ensuring a full range is available on the shop floor.
  • Verify that products are priced correctly.
  • Keep all displays up to date.

General Responsibilities:

  • Comply with all company rules and regulations, working within company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a high standard of appearance and dress in accordance with company policy, wearing staff uniform where provided.
  • Assist in keeping stock areas, staff facilities, and staff room clean, tidy, and orderly.
  • Assist in the unloading and reception of deliveries, moving, condensing, or shelving stock as required.
  • Deputize for other staff, work within departments, or carry out other duties as required.

Additional Duties:

  • Assist in the induction of new sales staff.
  • Supervise junior staff.
  • Train and develop junior staff.
  • Perform keyholder responsibilities.
  • Handle administration responsibilities.
  • Assist in the execution of security procedures.
