Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Head of Discipline to lead our coastal engineering team. As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for setting the direction for the team and guiding our efforts in coastal engineering and climate adaptation.

You will refer directly to the VP, Head of Engineering, and work closely with other Heads of Disciplines to secure growth and development for your employees and the area.

The day-to-day responsibilities of this role include managing a team of 15+ staff, executing the department action plan, and setting clear targets for performance and development of team members.

You will also manage project teams to deliver complex projects, provide technical knowledge and project management on projects, and contribute to the growth of the coastal pipeline through effective customer dialogue.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • M.Sc. in Civil Engineering or relevant field
  • 10+ years of experience in coastal engineering or related field
  • Extensive knowledge in coastal numerical modeling, design of breakwaters, and coastal protection
  • Significant experience in managing and designing coastal structures and hydraulic structures
  • Good insight into overseeing teams and project management skills on a high level
  • Proficient interpersonal abilities and technical skills
  • Communication skills in English (verbal and written)
