Climate Scientist for Polar Regions

We are seeking a highly skilled climate scientist to join our team at DMI - København. As a climate scientist, you will work on climate modeling with a focus on the polar regions and the climate affecting the Greenland and Antarctic ice sheets.
Key Responsibilities- Design and execute model experiments using our regional climate model (HCLIM, HARMONIE-Climate) and/or our surface mass balance model of the ice sheets.
- Develop the model code in collaboration with colleagues at DMI and as part of international consortia.
- Analyze model outputs and lead and contribute to scientific papers.
- Participate in developing new grant applications with the group and external collaborators.
- PhD degree in climate science, meteorology, or related fields.
- Experience with climate modeling, preferably of the atmosphere or ice sheets.
- Advanced programming skills, including Linux/Unix and scripting languages such as Python and Fortran.
- Research experience working with polar climate is an advantage.
- Good communication skills in oral and written English.
