Production Manager

DECPT ApS is a Danish defense technology scale-up developing revolutionary thermal camouflage solutions for defense applications. Our flagship product, Camofoil, uses advanced nanostructured optical meta-surfaces to drastically reduce heat signatures and protect critical military equipment.

Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead our transition from pilot-scale manufacturing to full industrial production. You will combine strong operational discipline with technical understanding, working hands-on with our roll-to-roll (R2R) production line initially, then scaling to structured production planning, quality systems, and team leadership. You'll collaborate closely with R&D, engineering, and management while engaging with international suppliers and partners.

Key Responsibilities

Production Management & Process Control

• Operate and optimize the R2R production line, mastering process parameters and equipment behavior.
• Lead daily operations ensuring stable throughput, consistent quality, and predictable output.
• Develop SOPs, calibration routines, and maintenance schedules.
• Train, mentor, and supervise production operators, building a capable and disciplined team.

Production Planning, Quality & Documentation

• Establish structured systems for production planning, traceability, and revision control.
• Maintain batch codes, inventory structures, and clear production documentation.
• Define and implement QC methodologies with R&D, including testing protocols, sampling strategies, and acceptance criteria.
• Manage measurement logs, CAPA systems, and regular performance reporting to ensure product capability reliability.

Supply Chain, Equipment & Process Implementation

• Manage stock levels, materials, and supplier relationships to secure production continuity.
• Coordinate procurement cycles, delivery schedules, and long-term supply planning.
• Be instrumental for the installation, commissioning, and validation of new production machinery.
• Integrate new equipment into production with appropriate safety routines, maintenance plans, and process documentation.

Continuous Improvement, Facility & Compliance

• Identify inefficiencies and implement structured improvements to increase yield and throughput.
• Transition new Camofoil variants from R&D to full-scale, repeatable production.
• Ensure safe, compliant operations in accordance with Danish regulations, chemical handling rules, and NATO-RESTRICTED protocols.
• Oversee facility maintenance, upgrades, and layout optimisation as production expands.

Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Build a professional, accountable production culture.
• Align production capacity with company goals across Management, R&D, Quality, Supply Chain, and Budgeting.
• Provide structured reporting on performance, challenges, and improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in advanced or precision manufacturing (e.g., coatings, films, roll-to-roll or similar).
• Solid understanding of production processes, quality systems, and documentation.
• Hands-on technical mindset and willingness to work directly with machinery initially.
• Experience with equipment commissioning, scaling, or new line setup preferred.
• High integrity and reliability when handling sensitive technologies.
• Excellent planning, organizational, and leadership abilities.
• Good communication (English) and people skills.

Security Requirements

This position requires obtaining NATO Security Clearance.

Candidates must be a NATO member state citizen. Due to the classified nature of our work, you will be subject to confidentiality agreements that may limit disclosure of specific technical details to peers, collaboration partners and future employers. Location and Work Arrangements

This full-time position requires you to be present at DECPT´s production facilities located in Nivå, 20 km outside of Copenhagen. Remote work is entirely supported when feasible.
