Would you like to be part of creating a new center that provides researchers with open access to state-of-the-art research infrastructures?
The Center for Core Facilities (CCF) at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences (SUND) aims to strengthen access to advanced research technologies and foster interdisciplinary collaboration at the University of Copenhagen. CCF coordinates and develops strategic core facilities across the faculty, ensuring cutting-edge technologies, transparent processes and pricing, and strong links to leading research environments.
Established on September 1st, 2025, CCF brings world-class infrastructure under one umbrella, making it easier for researchers, educators, and innovators to access technologies that drive and support excellent research, discovery, innovation, and life-long education.
The CCF will create a research infrastructure-centric ecosystem to implement and sustain excellent service provision, support and drive technology/methodology innovation, and secure the financial sustainability of core facilities.
You will be part of a team of competent colleagues, working together to support the core facilities and help shape the new CCF organization. Support and development areas include financial management, benchmarking, communication strategy, event management, career paths and professional development, service price models and invoicing, among others. We have an informal work environment that appreciates diversity, knowledge sharing, and collaboration.
We are looking for a dedicated colleague to support the center's strategic partnership and business development.
About the position
In this position, you will play a central role in developing strategic partnerships and business models to support the financial sustainability of excellent and world-class research facilities at SUND. Day-to-day tasks will focus on:
- scouting for new financial opportunities (e.g. external funds, commercial users), networking and facilitating meetings with potential partners
- benchmarking and increasing the awareness of CCF services (marketing)
- overseeing and continuously monitoring the CCF finances, in close collaboration with the UCPH financial officers, to identify strategic areas of adaptation/development (overview/strategic financial focus)
- developing and implementing new collaboration and service provision agreements in close collaboration with the legal department and the CCF Leadership team
- standardizing and harmonizing legal documents across CCF's Core Facilities when possible/relevant
- actively contributing to and coordinating, in close collaboration with the UCPH Research Funding Department, fund raising activities with internal and external stakeholders/partners
- keeping updated on the national/international research infrastructure landscape, in close collaboration with the CCF Director and Advisory Board, to identify and create new business models towards the long-term sustainability of CCF Core Facilities
About you
The candidate will have a scientific background (MSc degree, preferably a PhD) in a relevant field, possibly have experience as a research coordinator working with funding, and it will be an advantage, but not a prerequisite to have worked with funding for research infrastructures, and/or research financial management.
More concretely, we are looking for a candidate with:
- strong strategic skills to create new partnerships and locate funding opportunities
- strong project management skills
- experience and interest in research financial management
- strong communication skills and fluency in English
It will be considered an advantage to have experience with:
- research infrastructure strategic development, price models, service provision
- developing business cases for research infrastructures
- fundraising for research or research infrastructures
- developing legal collaboration and service provision agreements
- facilitating and/or managing research consortia towards new funding activities
The successful candidate will join the CCF Administration and Development team, tailored to support core facilities.
The employment is full-time and, depending on qualifications, will take place as a special consultant or senior consultant in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and academics in the state (the AC collective agreement). It is possible to negotiate supplements according to qualifications. Starting date will be January 1st, 2026, or as soon as possible after that date.
