International Programme Manager

Denmark DTU Wind Full time 100,000 - 150,000 per year
Description

Do you want to take part in a new initiative at the intersection between recruitment and international student mobility? Then this time-limited position, may be of interest to you.

The Office for Study Programmes and Student affairs (AUS) is seeking a new colleague to work as manager for our new initiative Incoming Research and Internship Exchange programme. The programme is a unique opportunity to build and drive a new venture for DTU, at the intersection between international student mobility and international recruitment of young talent for positions in Denmark.

AUS is organized into six offices with about 100 employees. AUS' mission is to develop and support the educational process at DTU, with a focus on our students.

The position as International Programme Manager is placed in the Office of International Education, where you will join a group of 27 highly competent colleagues. Together our assignment is to create the best possible framework for strong in- and outbound student mobility and contribute to the recognition of DTU as an international elite university with a global learning environment, which equips its graduates with a strong skillset to work globally.

The office is divided into four teams – and you will be placed in Team Exchange, which consists of 13 staff and a team leader. Team Exchange has student mobility at its very core – including all the processes that support and enable students to complete part of their education abroad or take virtual courses at a partner institution. The team consists of colleagues who work with international partnerships and educational collaboration, where semester exchange is at the centre, other colleagues work with the formal recognition of courses taken at other institution in terms of credit transfer and yet other colleagues work with strategic initiatives with selected international partners.

Your primary task will be unique within the office. You will be the programme manager for our new initiative Incoming Research and Internship Exchange programme, where we seek to offer internship and student research placements for top talent at industry partners in Denmark, or in academic departments at DTU.

You will work with partnership managers to embed the programme in key partnerships, our incoming coordinator and most likely also with other units at DTU who work with industry collaboration and related initiatives. Most elements of the initiative have been conceptualized, but there is still room for minor adjustments and additional clarifications, as this is a newly established initiative.

Overall, the position provides a lot of opportunities to work with many aspects of international student mobility – and interact with stakeholders at many different levels, across sectors and in many different countries. We are not expecting a lot of travels related to the position – a reasonable estimate will be 5 working days a year, but each year may be slightly different.

Your daily tasks will not require knowledge of Danish – but as most of the administration works in Danish, you can expect to encounter Danish at larger meetings. We therefore expect from you that you are currently on a track to learning Danish.

The job

Your tasks will consist in the following

  • Connect with potential industry partners – and establish a firm membership base, both through our existing network of industry partners at DTU and by adding new partners to the list
  • Ensure the daily operations of the programme:
    • Support the publication of new internship positions and student research options
    • Work with university partners to ensure a pool of excellent student candidates from our partners
    • Match students with relevant job postings and connect them with the employer and ensure a structured and timely process
    • Manage enrollment students in DTU's systems, the relevant processes related to residence permits
    • Ensure that the students are linked to social activities at DTU, both before the semester and throughout the semester
    • Monitor student paths and success after the completion of the programme
  • Further develop the programme to meet the demands of both industry partners, university partners and students – if needed.

We expect that the first year of the programme will be focused on interactions with industry partners, and establishment of the routines of the Incoming Research and Internship Programme. Over time we expect that the position may gradually change towards a higher extend of administrative tasks, as the student volume increase towards 200 a year.

Our expectations of you

You are a strong candidate for this position, if

  • You have approximately 5 years direct experience in international recruitment from a Danish or Nordic industry setting, preferably from a position at a central HR-office
  • You have excellent communication skills, and know both how to put together a set of compelling slides, and how to approach industry partners and pitch the programme
  • You thrive with a mix of outward facing missions and with administrative tasks – and are willing to do the heavy lifting of running the initiative when needed
  • You are highly structured – maybe you have direct project management competencies, or at least have a mindset that can see the benefit of a project managers toolbox, and are ready to use it to ensure alignment, clarity and documented progress
  • You are motivated by working with international students and their mobility

What we offer in return

We offer an interesting and challenging job in an international atmosphere with the focus on research, teaching, innovation and scientific advice for the benefit of society.

Salary and appointment terms

The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC). You are employed as a Senior Officer (specialkonsulent).

The position is a full-time position with 37 working hours a week in average. Starting date is 1 January 2026 or as soon as possible. The position runs until 30 November 2026.

The workplace is DTU Lyngby Campus.
