Process Data Scientist

We are looking for a Process Data Scientist to help us translate our manufacturing and supporting processes pain points, into first class manufacturing intelligence use cases via data analytics /science. Your New Role

The Process Data Scientist is a critical role within FUJIFILM Biotechnologies Denmark (FLBD) as the business is expanding and we are introducing new technologies, programs, and customers continuously – with data excellence being one of the mission enablers. We also provide ongoing support to our new site in Holly Springs, NC, USA.

You will be a key stakeholder in establishing the site's process data usage and analytics value chain, whilst being the owner of already validated monitoring applications, e.g., an electronic chromatogram review setup and machine learning batch performance models. We continuously strive to identify opportunities to improve internal systems and practices, as well as provide direction and development of digital/data offerings to our partners.

Your Primary Tasks Will Be

• Represent Process Analytics as lead on data and data system related aspects of customer programs
• Process Analytics systems support to manufacturing across all product modalities
• Develop, validate, and deploy ETL pipelines and help build the process data ecosystem
• Support process performance qualification (PPQ), Campaign Summary Reports (CSR), PPQ, continued process verification (CPV) and annual product reviews (APQR)
• Develop, validate, and deploy multivariate batch monitoring models
• Support area and systems improvement initiatives in the Process Analytics space
• Support process investigations, root cause analysis, optimization with data support and analysis

The skills & knowledge we hope you possess

• You have a master's degree in in a relevant science or engineering discipline (i.e., Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering or similar) with 3-5 years of industry experience or a Bachelors in the same area with 5+ years of industry experience.
• Experience with software systems including SIMCA, SIMCA-online, SIMCA-Q or similar for multivariate batch process modeling & monitoring, and spectroscopic modeling (multivariate calibration).
• Experience with implementation and deployment of process and spectroscopy models for real-time monitoring and prediction, including integration with process historians such as PI and embedding into spectroscopy run time environments/analyzers.
• Experience with Statistica or similar application for building and deploying ETL pipelines, delivering datasets for use by internal and external customers, reporting purposes, etc.
• Good communication skills and high motivation to work and interface across departments in a complex and diverse stakeholder landscape.
• Experience working in a GMP environment supporting biopharma manufacturing operations is a plus. Work in other industrial operations environments also considered.
• Experience validating GxP data products is a plus.
• Working-knowledge of SQL and familiarity with the Python data science ecosystem (NumPy, SciPy, pandas, Scikit-learn, Jupyter Notebook) is a plus.

The team

The Process Analytics team is part of the Process Science (similar to MSAT) organization and provide leadership and subject matter expertise in data management and data products supporting clinical, PPQ and commercial processes primarily in large-scale cell culture manufacturing.

We are a growing team of scientists and engineers with data management and data science expertise, also with experience within the digital space of cell culture manufacturing operations.

The work environment is dynamic and international. The role is based in our Hillerød, Denmark location.
