emagine is seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Lead Cloud Migration Architect to support a client in the energy sector on a strategic migration and modernization program. The project involves moving workloads from Azure and on-premises environments to AWS, leveraging an existing AWS landing zone.

The consultant will be embedded in the AWS migration program, supporting cross-organizational migration efforts and collaborating closely with the broader architecture community. You will own the end-to-end solution architecture for migrations, ensuring quality, integrity, and alignment across teams and releases.

Key responsibilities include defining and maintaining the architectural runway, translating enterprise and security policies into actionable reference architectures, and developing best practices for migration patterns such as rehost, re-platform, and refactor. The role also involves setting and enforcing non-functional requirements, ensuring compliance, and integrating reliability and security by design.

We are looking for a consultant with at least 8 years of experience in cloud architecture and engineering, including substantial hands-on expertise with AWS and a solid understanding of Azure. You have a proven track record of delivering enterprise-scale cloud migrations and deep technical skills in Terraform/CloudFormation, CI/CD, containers (EKS/ECS), serverless (Lambda), networking, IAM, and observability. Experience with FinOps, policy-as-code, and compliance frameworks is a strong advantage.

You will collaborate with Enterprise Architects, Product Managers, System Teams, and AWS delivery teams, actively participating in agile/SAFe ceremonies such as PI planning and system demos. The ideal candidate is pragmatic, outcome-driven, and capable of simplifying complex architectural decisions while maintaining high standards for quality and security.

The position is based onsite in the Copenhagen region, with a requirement to be present at least three days per week during the contract period.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture or engineering
  • Proven expertise in AWS and working knowledge of Azure
  • Experience with large-scale cloud migration programs
  • Proficiency in Terraform/CloudFormation, CI/CD, containers, serverless, IAM, and security
  • Knowledge of policy-as-code, compliance, and FinOps
  • Experience working in agile/SAFe environments
