To ensure future relevance of our business you must be motivated to drive change and dare to challenge current practices whilst demonstrating outside the box thinking. A strong technical background in the medical devices area, demonstrable leadership skills, and an ability to build and drive team motivation are key to being successful in this position.
The successful candidate will lead a team of assessors and auditors who are planning and conducting audits and assessments based on the requirements of ISO 17021, ISO 13485, MDR, MDSAP, amongst others.
The Team Leader Medical will report to the Head of Auditors & Experts.
The role is full-time and can be based anywhere in Europe.
Tasks may include:
Lead a team of technical professionals in accordance with established DNV procedures, maintaining a high standard of service delivery and performance that ensures effective customer relationships, Ensure an efficient and consistent team and own delivery of services in line with customer expectations, ensure professional customer support which leads to a high customer satisfaction and market reputation (including marketing support), Build and strengthen a team culture based on DNV’s values, Execute leadership and HR management as per the DNV People Policy, including annual processes such as MIP to monitor and drive performance, Ensure that employees have the required technical competences and qualifications are up to date, support employees’ personal and professional development, Control the chargeability of the team and make sure all work is completed within the required budget and timeframes to ensure customer satisfaction and efficiency of the business, Take part and be responsible for the hiring of new staff. Recognizing where the gaps are and building a team that is motivated, talented and diversified, Design an on-boarding program for new staff that is varied, engaging and ensures they are set up for success, Complete specific projects in relation to medical device procedures, processes, systems and documentation as requested by the Medical Devices Operations Manager. If required, undertake reviews of packs and make certification decisions within target timescales and in line with DNV policies and accreditation/approval requirements. Project manage auditing teams, as appropriate, to maximize efficiencies, enhance client satisfaction and ensure compliance with standards. Empower employees and encourage autonomy and individual growth, Create a flexible workforce and automate workflows to deal with variable workload, Support the Head of Section in business planning and decision making, Actively collaborate with corresponding roles to evolve the service portfolio and capture customer opportunities, Enhance the operational cooperation and interaction within the medical services delivery by closely cooperating with DNV Local units, promote best practice sharing,Key Performance Indicators:
Specific KPIs related to the tasks and responsibilities of the Team Leader Medical will be established in the yearly planning process. The performance versus these KPIs will be followed by the Head of Auditors & Experts.

Qualifications & Competency Requirements:
To be considered for this role, you will have professional experience in a relevant field of healthcare products or related activities, for example:
Work in medical devices industry or closely related industries (., pharmaceutical industry) Work in health services, universities, foundations or other institutions carrying out inspections, audits, clinical evaluations, experimental and/or clinical research, including notified bodies, Work in the application of device technology and its use in health care services and with patients,In addition to the above you’ll also need to demonstrate the following:
An ability to lead, motivate and build a team of technical professionals, An excellent working knowledge of medical device management systems, standards and medical device compliance/auditing techniques, Work experience in positions with significant QA Regulatory or management systems responsibility, Experience with Harmonized medical device standards for active & non active medical devices, Experience with Risk Management EN ISO 14971, Experience with Sterilization techniques (such as ETO, Gamma, Steam, Dry Heat) and formal qualification desirable, Medical device experience from auditing/work, Experience auditing against recognized standards, Experience of working under own initiative and in planning and prioritizing workloads, Solid knowledge of medical devices, Should have a flair for technical writing, essential for exhaustive report writing. At least 5 years of people leadership experience, An appreciative and cooperative management style, A demonstrated track record of developing and driving performance.
