Overview

In your job as a Senior Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing and selling to a territory of Italian based technology vendor accounts and working within IDC’s South Europe Sales team as a part of the European Sales organizations. The role will have a renewal (70%) and new business acquisition (30%) focus, and you will have access to selling the full IDC Portfolio of services to an assigned base of customers and prospects. 

Type of contract: Full-time, permanent

Location : IDC offices, Milan, Italy

Responsibilities

Focus on primarily selling IDC's Research & Data but also Custom Solutions and Events portfolio to clients in the technology sector based in Italy, Manage existing accounts (70%) by maintaining a strong relationship with clients, negotiating renewals as well as new contracts and identifying opportunities for improvement and growth, Acquire new business opportunities in the technology sector (30%) through networking, research, and prospecting, and driving the entire sales cycle from initial customer contact to closing the deal, Customize proposals based on customer requirements and meet budgeted sales targets, Accurately report the sales pipeline in the CRM (Salesforce) and local market intel/inputs to grow the business based on trends and requirements. Collaborate with IDC teams consisting of Analysts, Consultants and other Sales professionals.

Qualifications

Has approximately 5 to 7+ years of direct sales experience and preferably a bachelor’s degree or higher, Is fluent in Italian and English both in written and spoken form, Has demonstrated success working independently to sell complex goods and services to technology vendors, Has an understanding of market research and research subscriptions and the value they provide to clients, Has a customer-centric approach, a collaborative and proactive mindset, Experience with Salesforce is preferred.
