Core Responsibilities

You will work with a broad area of contact and tasks related to Cloud FinOps. Your tasks will include but not be limited to:

  • Make suggestions for, creating and maintaining Power BI reports and dashboards. Ingest data into Power BI, transform data and visualize for usability. Examples could be management reports across various capabilities and Total Cost of Ownership transparency. 

  • Support and complement the team’s Power BI skill development. 

  • Support the team with various admin tasks within billing (i.e. PO creation for Azure and AWS services. 

  • Help us validate the data displayed in Power BI by ensuring correct billing from Cloud Providers, goods received, and correct payments made.

You will join our Cloud FinOps team as a Tech Ops Student Worker focused on Power BI work. In Cloud FinOps we operate and manage the financial processes for our organization's cloud computing infrastructure and costs. We promote a culture of shared cost responsibility. It is OK if you are not fluent in Cloud FinOps. It is a new capability growing rapidly in the industry. Joining this team will be a great opportunity to grow and specialize in a field that is very demanded, so all we need is your willingness to develop a passion for Cloud or Finance. 

The Cloud FinOps team currently consists of three Tech Ops colleagues in Billund, a Senior engineer and a Lead Engineer in Copenhagen. We are passionate about what we do and are always looking for opportunities to improve our team practices and increase value. The atmosphere is informal and humorous, and we would love it if you could make us laugh as well as impress us with your proactivity, curiosity, and attention to detail. You will become a valuable part of our team to help solve our Power BI development tasks while also supporting various operational tasks.

Do you have what it takes?

You are currently enrolled in a higher educational institution and are able to work an average of 2-3 days per week for a minimum duration of 18 months. You could come from multiple educational backgrounds such as IT, Procurement, Finance, Business Intelligence, Data or the like, and have a keen interest in enabling financial processes using data and Power BI.

Furthermore, you have

  • The ability to support the team’s needs for data transparency through strong Power BI skills including using Query Editor and understanding simple DAX calculation.

  • Confidence in working with basic SQL

  • Have an eye for data visualization and automation of data workflows 

  • Are curious and have a can-do approach to your tasks and ways of working.  

As a person, you’re a great team player who enjoys sharing knowledge and ideas with your team. You can work with all types of people and you enjoy putting your skills into play to help solve team tasks. You can communicate pros and cons of various approaches as well explain the value. Thus, being part of a team and collaborative setting is something that energizes you.  

It will be an advantage, but not a requirement for this position, if you have

  • Some insight into financial terminology and practices

  • Experience with warehousing, data bricks, data lakes, and data modelling

  • An understanding of API and ETL as well as general tidiness across various data sets and tools
