Visma’s Machine Learning Assets team develops and delivers machine learning-based solutions for business systems. In particular document data extraction (Smartscan), and a prediction engine that learns from user behavior (Autosuggest).

We have a strong R&D program in LLMS for document and transaction understanding. We build our own foundation models tailored to this domain.

Visma Smartscan is a market-leading document data extraction engine outperforming some of the biggest players in the market. Smartscan processes more than 14 million documents every month, saving our customers from hours of tedious work.

Visma Autosuggest enables you to learn user behavior and use that to assist the users as well as improve the user experience. Autosuggest simplifies the handling of more than 15 million transactions per month.

We’re growing both our usage numbers and our skill set. We’re looking for a student developer to participate in this.

The Job
As a student developer in the Visma Machine Learning Assets team you will help us

  • Participate in developing and evaluating the quality of our AI APIs
    • Benchmarking against competitors
    • Bootstrapping new tasks for our foundation models
  • Improve our work on synthetic data for large language model tasks
  • Prototype new AI products that use our existing AI skills
  • Build and evaluate new use cases for our AI APIs

To succeed in this job you will need a solid footing in data science/deep learning/LLMs and an interest in actually applying AI to new problems.

How We Work
Working in the Visma ML Assets team is a chance to have a lot of impact in a super flat structure with a lot of individual responsibility. We run with as little process as possible - hate technical debt and move forward rather than fix old mistakes. On the frontend we use React and try to keep our systems as lightweight and simple as possible.

The ideal candidate

  • Is a self-starting prototype
  • With a solid grasp of data science fundamentals
  • Experience with building light web applications is a plus
  • The team language is English - we like team members who are comfortable writing as well.

The Team
Curiosity, collaboration and a shared desire to change and improve what we know and how we work - that is what drives the ML Assets team.

We have a lot of experience in this domain - with a good balance between new talent and experienced seniors. We’re proud to be ambitious with our machine learning - and proud of the strong academic background of the data science team. Team age is anything from the mid-twenties to early fifties. We come from Denmark, Iceland, Hungary, The Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland.

We have an exceptionally high degree of freedom to innovate and experiment. We firmly believe that highly engaged colleagues create the best products with the freedom to operate. We work with a research mindset and take the time to study the state of the art in our field. We keep our platform current and have a strong bias against technical debt.

The team is centered in Copenhagen and this job opening is for the Copenhagen office.
