With about four million Swedes accessing Aftonbladet's journalism daily, we hold a unique position and a great responsibility as the heart of Swedish news and a part of people's everyday lives. Our journalism is available on mobile, web, online videos, podcasts and in print. We are where our readers are. While breaking news is our core, we also excel in investigative journalism, entertainment, lifestyle, and sports, including Sportbladet – Sweden's largest sports news destination.

We are now seeking an experienced People Manager to drive Aftonbladet's People agenda. Collaborating with leaders across the company, you'll lead initiatives to enhance organisational effectiveness, foster talent development, and elevate employee engagement.

About the role
In this role, you will be part of Aftonbladet's management team, working closely with our Publisher and CEO, Lotta Folcker and her team. Additionally, you will serve as a key member of the People Business Partner leadership team within Schibsted Media.

The focus of this role is to proactively identify and address People priorities, ensuring alignment with Aftonbladet's strategic objectives and ambitions. You will spearhead talent management, collaborating with leaders to identify key talent needs, and working with the wider People organisation on strategies for attraction, development, and retention. Together with the leadership team, you will assess organisational needs and implement initiatives that enhance team effectiveness. You have the ability to support leaders in change management, providing guidance on employee engagement and transition strategies.

Furthermore, you will own Employee Relations and Labour Law, acting as a trusted advisor for managers and employees by providing guidance on policies, procedures, and employee relations matters. As a People Manager you will have five direct reports within scheduling and administration.

We're looking for a professional with high strategic and business acumen who can proactively identify and address People priorities. In addition, we seek for a People Manager with following qualifications;

  • Experience as a People-/HR- Manager, People-/HR- Business Partner or similar, preferably supporting relevant work environments and matrix organisations.
  • Strong understanding of HR best practices, Swedish employment law and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Experienced in working closely with unions to enhance company success.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and act as a trusted advisor on all levels of the organisation.
  • Strong Project management and process skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and translate business needs into HR initiatives.
  • Proactive and solutions-oriented mindset, with the ability to navigate and drive change.
  • Strong communications skills and fluent in Swedish language.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree or HR certification is a plus.
