Role Description
LEO Pharma has embarked on an ambitious journey to become the preferred dermatology care partner improving people's lives around the world – and that is why we need you.
You will report directly to the EVP of Global Technical Development & Supply (TDS) and be a part of that leadership team. Together with your direct reports and around 80 members in your department, you will ensure strong collaboration across particularly TDS, and as a Business Partner for R&D, contribute to the success of the LEO Pharma product pipeline. You are also part of LEO Pharma's extended global leadership team (eGLT).
In your VP area, you will be overall responsible for overseeing CMC and device deliverables on LEO Pharma's pipeline projects from qualifier selection through to tech transfer and handover to commercial supply. With LEO Pharma's external sourcing and development strategy, the emphasis will be on supporting external innovation sourcing and subsequently performing CMC development activities, preparing for filing and launch. Additionally, the VP P&PT ensures that manufacturing science and technology activities (MSAT) for commercial products, produced at our manufacturing site in Ballerup and at external contract manufacturing and development organizations, are performed effectively.
Your role
- Set aspiration, strategy, and implementation for P&PT, including short term execution in progressing the current pipeline as well as incorporating mid-long term strategic actions to secure success of LEO strategies and drug development
- Position LEO as a top priority with existing partners and hold them accountable for deadlines and deliverables
- Accountable for budget planning and follow-up (OPEX/CAPEX) in alignment with project pipeline integrated plans
- Provide new value-adding product opportunities and assessments based on novel drug delivery technologies, while also act as an expert for input to integrated project strategies and plans to ensure positive progression of CMC and Device deliverables of LEO pipeline projects
- Daily management securing capabilities, structure and processes and evaluate to achieve optimal effectiveness including optimal allocation of resources including the area being technically and scientifically working with best practices benchmarking with companies like LEO
- Providing consolidated resource-, and bottleneck estimates to ensure optimal resource utilization for designated pipeline projects
- People Development of the leaders and employees within the function, including setting clear direction and goals, delegation, supporting continuous education, hold performance management & appraisal meetings while focusing on quality, speed, productivity, and team building in line with LEO's values, compliance, and highly appreciated work environment
- Collaboration both internally and externally with multiple stakeholders and handling of communication to stakeholders of critical information for decision basis in the LEO Pharma portfolio
- Represent LEO Pharma at regulatory meetings, scientific meetings, seminars etc.
Your qualifications
To succeed in this role, we imagine that you have the following qualifications:
- Academic background within medical, science, pharmaceutical, or engineering, preferably supplemented by a PhD and/or management degree or similar
- Experienced leader with a solid track record from a CMC leadership role in pharma with end-to-end product supply and/or technical development, covering regulatory, quality and manufacturing facets (preferably including development of topical formulations)
- Experience in managing external partnerships in relation to manufacturing/CMC/tech development
- Experience in successfully managing multiple pipeline projects simultaneously
- Strong understanding of EM/FDA regulatory requirements, manufacturing practices and other related guidance for product/process development in pharma
- Experience with budget accountability within CMC or other related areas
- Proven track record in leading organizations in change using strong communication skills and driving strategies and plans forward
- Ability to present data and information in an impactful and succinct way
- Excellent people leader with focus on people development of your direct reports
- Full proficiency in English
