The role is responsible for promoting and leading implementation of the Danaher Business System (DBS) for the entire opco with focus on Operations, Innovation and Commercial and being instrumental in setting the strategic agenda and Kaizen funnel for the year of mission critical and high impact projects. Our new leader is someone who will be results-driven with a proven ability to partner with L1 leaders to identify valuable problems, manage change, and drive impact through the use of DBS tools. The role will serve as a coach for senior leaders as well as for building out and sustaining the community of DBS experts across the organization that are embedded in the business.

The role also has the responsibility of helping elevate the DBS muscle across the leadership team and in the organization and continuing the journey of continuous improvement culture which is a strategic advantage for Danaher and is part of our Core Behaviors.

  • Lead and manage a team of Global DBS associates to deliver annual strategic objectives and architect performance to meet 3-5 years strategic goals of the enterprise. This includes managing a direct team of strategic DBS leaders and indirect team of DBS leaders embedded in each function across the organization within Ops, Commercial, R&D, Business unit and enabling functions.
  • Responsible for leading, promoting and facilitating the successful implementation of the Danaher Business System (DBS) at Radiometer allowing the businesses to meet its Policy Deployment (PD), Core Value Driver (CVD) and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) targets by partnering with the President to architect and enable thoughtful deployment of DBS tools and ensure the team drives sustainable results.
  • Use the 8 signs of leading with DBS to drive tangible improvement in CVD/KPIs across the Radiometer leadership team aligned with the company strategy and priorities.
  • Ensure impactful kaizen events by installing and ensuring compliance to the kaizen process, including planning of kaizen events with a funnel review process tied to PD, CVDs and KPIs, kaizen event execution and sustainment of kaizens.
  • Partner with VPs and leadership team to identify gaps in DBS capability/capacity based on the critical few prioritized business needs and manage the Certified Practitioner funnel for the company.
  • Partner with the President to own the monthly L1 PD Ops meetings. Ownership defined as: Schedule, agenda, communication, material collection/consolidate/dissemination, meeting AP, etc.
  • Architect results through the thoughtful deployment of STRAT Enablement and the DBS Functional Engines (i.e., Innovation, Commercial, etc.) and associated HVx/Playbooks, SxR and DBS tools.
  • Drive improvements on core growth from innovation, revenue achievement from new products, OTD of new product development, Incremental Pipeline Value and Incremental Funnel Value by leveraging the DBS Growth Tools. Serve as coach and/or Strategic Innovation Review (SIR) Maestro ensuring successful use of the Innovation Engine, SIR work teams and decision agenda.
  • Leverage the DBS Innovation Engine and DBS Fundamentals playbook to identify and close gaps in organization development to achieve increased capability and competency in the areas of process rigor, strategic insight, organizational design, talent development and culture.
  • Lead/facilitate the development and management of DBS across functional areas focused on R&D, Marketing, Product Management and Strategy to achieve annual targets, department level goals, and project level KPI's. This includes installation and consistent use of daily management (DM) and high-quality Problem-Solving Processes (PSP).
  • Utilize the Danaher Certified Practitioner Guidance to manage a funnel of subject matter experts in the Innovation and Fundamental tools to support Cepheid's growth ambition. Ensure each function has internal CPs and that the Innovation DBSL team has ACPs in place to support those CPs. Identify Danaher and Cepheid best practices, standardize and install across innovation functions. Benchmark and incorporate best practices. Work closely with peers in DBS organization, across Danaher.
Education & Competencies:
  • MSc degree in Science, Strategic Management, Project Management, or MBA equivalent required.
  • 5+ years of people leadership experience with demonstrated success in driving results with Continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to accurately assess key business metrics and situations from a "general manager's" point of view.
  • Direct experience in working with technology, product management, strategy and business development organizations to drive innovation and competitive growth.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, develop, and implement a DBS roadmap for an operating business.
  • Substantial leadership experience in large global, highly matrixed organizations, leading tenured directors/senior directors across multiple sites.
  • High level competency in business management with financial acumen.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Global change management experience advantageous.
  • In-depth knowledge and application of strong processes and continuous improvement tools including lean, visual project management, standard work, KPI's, etc.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
  • Exposure to senior leadership teams including C-suite.
  • Ability to travel 50% and as minimum 1 week per month in Denmark.
