At NMD Pharma, we are dedicated to advancing life-changing therapies for patients with neuromuscular diseases. As part of our growth, we are seeking an experienced DMPK Scientist (senior scientist or principal scientist dependent on your experience) to lead drug metabolism, PK/PD activities and contribute as a subject matter expert in our cross-functional teams. This global role is pivotal in shaping the DMPK strategies that support our programs from discovery through to development.

Your Role

You will report to the Head of Non-clinical Development and be responsible for planning and executing drug metabolism and PK/PD activities. You will play a key role in guiding strategies and ensuring alignment with our clinical development objectives.

- Lead PK/PD activities: Be responsible for designing, monitoring, analyzing, and interpreting PK studies, provide PK and PK/PD modelling from non-clinical studies and clinical trials.
- Lead drug metabolism activities: Be responsible for designing, monitoring and interpreting in vitro and in vivo drug metabolism studies performed at CRO’s (non-GLP and GLP).
- Nonclinical - Clinical Transition: Use PK/PD modelling and simulation tools and perform human dose predictions.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement DMPK activities that align with overall development strategies from lead selection and throughout clinical development.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Represent DMPK in cross-functional teams, driving decision-making and influencing clinical study designs.
- Documentation: Write high-quality reports and regulatory documentation, including DMPK sections in Investigator Brochures, study protocols, regulatory submissions (IND/IMPD, NDA/MAA), etc.

Your Profile

We are looking for a self-motivated, collaborative scientist with expertise in drug metabolism, pharmacokinetics, PK/PD modelling with strong communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Education: PhD or Master’s degree in pharmaceutical sciences, pharmacology, or a related field is required combined with 5+ years of industry experience.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with PK/PD software such as WinNonlin, R, or MATLAB.
- Experience: Solid expertise in discovery and development drug metabolism, PK/PD, DDI, and bioanalytical development of small molecules or peptide therapeutics. Experience in working with CROs and performing studies according to GLP with a comprehensive understanding of ICH guidelines.
- Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to work independently while being a strong collaborative member in cross-functional teams. Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
- Mindset: Detail and quality oriented with a critical eye on data, analyse and interpret complex problems with curiosity and a collaborative attitude.

Work Environment and Benefits

This position offers flexibility in work location, with preferred location being Aarhus, Denmark or Copenhagen, Denmark. Alternatively, remote work within Europe is an option.

Some travel will be required, along with flexibility to collaborate across time zones.
