We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic research scientist to join our team at the Leo Foundation Skin Immunology Research Centre within ISIM, University of Copenhagen.

The position is dedicated to understanding allergic immunity at a fundamental level.

Our research revolves around exploring the fundamentals of allergic inflammation. Key questions for our group include: What makes inflammatory allergic responses pathogenic? What are triggers for allergic inflammation? How do environmental and genetic factors combine to mediate allergy?

As a research scientist, you will be responsible for driving experiments and projects forward with a great degree of independence. You should also be adept in working in team environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Executing mouse models of disease
  • Utilizing fluorescence microscopy and multiparameter flow cytometry
  • Conducting tissue histology and general wet lab techniques used in the field of immunology

Requirements:

  • PhD in Immunology or a related field
  • Highly experienced in microscopy, flow cytometry, histology, and mouse handling
  • Proficient communication skills and ability to work in teams
  • Excellent English skills written and spoken

Desirable Skills:

  • Understanding of lung and skin organ biology
  • Understanding of inflammation and the role of adaptive and immune cells

Working Conditions:

The place of employment is at the Maersk Tower, University of Copenhagen. We offer creative and stimulating working conditions in a dynamic and international research environment. Our research centre includes modern laboratories and access to core microscopy and flow cytometry facilities that are world class.

Terms of Employment:

The average weekly working hours are 37 hours per week. The position is a fixed-term position for 2-3 years. Salary, pension, and other conditions of employment are set in accordance with the Agreement between the Ministry of Taxation and AC (Danish Confederation of Professional Associations) or other relevant organisations.

Foreign and Danish applicants may be eligible for tax reductions if they hold a PhD degree and have not lived in Denmark the last 10 years.
