Manage a team building the future of automated compliance in the product space. Your work will directly impact Amazon's ability to serve customers and partners safely and efficiently across the globe.

You will also lead the development of a bidding platform where sellers and vendors can find the best accredited labs to certify that their products comply with various regulations and are safe for our customers.
You drive to develop the careers of your developers, improve our development processes, remove bottlenecks and friction, and allow the team to move at a fast pace. You will need to collaborate closely with business leads, product owners, technical program managers, and partner teams. You are comfortable with a degree of ambiguity and are always open to identifying alternative paths.
Your Mission:- Build a bidding platform where sellers can find the labs best suited to accredit their products as compliant with various international safety regulations.
- Extend Amazon's automated ingestion of certified product specifications from various external agencies to comply with regulations around safety and circular economy laws (energy efficiency, repairability, and durability).
- You'll protect customers and partners by identifying risks before they become issues.
- Your work will streamline compliance processes, reducing costs and improving efficiency.
- A proven leader with a track record of building and leading high-performing engineering teams.
- Someone who thrives in ambiguity and can navigate complex technical landscapes.
- A visionary who can balance long-term goals with short-term problem-solving.
- Responsible for the overall systems development life cycle management and execution against project plans and delivery commitments; Manage the day-to-day activities of the engineering team within an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Management of departmental resources, staffing, mentoring, and enhancing and maintaining a best-of-class engineering team.
- Work closely with the engineers to architect and develop the best technical design and approach.
- Collaborating closely with senior leaders across the Lifecycle Engagement Organization to influence and drive broader product and technical strategy alignment.
- Report on status of development, quality, operations, and system performance to management.
Compliance Shared Services (CoSS) vision is to provide best-in-class automation of controls for internal compliance and business programs (our primary customers) to lower costs in the Amazon flywheel on behalf of our end customers: buyers and selling partners. We provide easy-to-use shared services with data privacy, security, and tenant isolation across all stages, while continuously raising industry standards for automation performance and cost efficiency, giving our program customers confidence that they have access to optimal cost-efficient automation options to better serve their end customers.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- Experience in engineering team management.
- Experience in leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services.
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations.
- Experience partnering with product and program management teams.
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy.
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching, and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective product software engineers.
