The University seeks to appoint an associate professor to the Department of Drug Design and Pharmacology to commence March 1st 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter.

At the Department of Drug Design and Pharmacology we work in a dynamic and committed academic community of research, education, innovation, and outreach within the Pharmaceutical Sciences bridging Health Science and Life Science. We value interdisciplinary research and education, development of individual competences, and finding solutions to today's and tomorrow's challenges in society. The department furthermore prioritizes sustainability in all aspects of research and education.

Job description
In considering applications for the associate professorship, the main emphasis will be on the applicant's ability to document original scientific work at the highest international level and high ambitions in teaching development within the areas of peptide ligand discovery, biochemical and biophysical characterisation of peptides and proteins, as well as investigations of protein folding.

The associate professor is expected to contribute to strengthening interdisciplinary research and education at the Department, with focus on biopharmaceutical studies of peptide ligands that target protein function.

The associate professor's responsibilities will primarily consist of:

  • Research, including publication/academic dissemination to the scientific community and to the general public
  • Develop, organize, and conduct research-based teaching, including associated examination, in relevant fields within the Department's education activities

  • Experience with biophysical protein characterisation, in vitro and cell-based assays
  • Track record in attracting external funding
  • Track record in innovation
  • Experience in development and conduction of research-based teaching

Applicants already having sustainability integrated in all aspects of their research and teaching, or a clear plan for doing so, will have preference.
