About the role

As a Network Technician at GlobalConnect, you'll be joining a Pan-Nordic team responsible for 3rd level operations where we are supporting the future of B2B and B2G network solutions. You will be part of a growing business that offers exposure to innovative technologies and provides a steep learning curve.

In this role, you'll focus on troubleshooting and maintaining critical network systems while also working on advanced SD-WAN, firewall, and WiFi platforms like Fortinet, HPE Aruba, Meraki, and Versa Networks. You will have the unique opportunity to handle 3rd-level operations, ensuring the ongoing performance of one of Europe's largest and most complex ISP networks.

Here are some examples of key responsibilities during a typical day:

  • Collaborating with our Network Operations and Engineering teams to manage and resolve incidents and escalations.
  • Maintaining Layer 2/3 network systems and overseeing SD-WAN services (Underlay, Overlay, Add-On).

Alongside these responsibilities, you will continuously observe the network's performance, resolve advanced issues, handle alterations in system configuration, and maintain consistent operations to provide continuous service to our clients. You'll also keep documentation up-to-date and train local Customer Service departments to strengthen their knowledge.

At GlobalConnect, your work entails more than network upkeep; you'll be contributing to innovative advancements. The role provides a platform to interact with up-and-coming technologies set in a lively and quick-tempo scene, where you'll join forces with a fervent, closely connected team that excels through collaboration. You'll participate in exciting projects that let you expand your expertise in software-defined networks and gain hands-on experience with advanced security solutions for large-scale networks.

To succeed in this role, we believe you have:
  • Deep expertise in Fortinet technologies, including FortiGate FW/SD-WAN routers, FortiExtender 4G/5G modems, FortiSwitch, and FortiAP WiFi APs.
  • Solid experience with TCP/IP, Routing & Switching, and SD-WAN services such as Underlay, Overlay, and Add-On.
  • Experience with some of the platforms like Meraki, Versa, and Aruba.
  • Familiarity with ITIL and collaboration tools like ServiceNow and MS Teams.
  • Fluency in English (both written and spoken) to effectively communicate across our Pan-Nordic team and with customers.

In this role, we will conduct a security clearance, so it's important you have that approved in the country you're applying for.
