Lead Engineer for Topsoe's SOEC pilot production

Lead Mechanical Engineer to support the operations and development of our SOEC (Solid Oxide Electrolysis Cell) ceramic cell production and screen printing process at our SOEC pilot production in Kgs. Lyngby.

Topsoe’s Power-to-X unit is a strategic lighthouse on our path to be the leading provider of carbon emission reduction technologies. We are now looking for a new colleague to support our SOEC cell pilot production facilities at our headquarters. Our purpose is to upscale next generation SOEC cell, component and stack production to our factory in Herning and beyond. Our SOEC electrolysis technology will, through its unmatched energy efficiency, play a significant role in the green electrification of the chemical and refinery industry.

Who we’re looking for
You are passionate about machines and quality and thrive when setting high standards for how we work with production improvements and process quality. Ideally you have a mechanical, process or production engineer background with flair for working with industrial production and are experienced within product quality systems and quality management from a manufacturing point of view.

Your focus will be to:

  • Support the production personnel in our ceramic SOEC cell production and ensure they are trained and follow standards and procedures.
  • Own and further develop our ceramic SOEC cell production process, based on LEAN and continuous improvement principles.
  • Introduce new production equipment and processes to fit next generation products.
  • Monitor and report on production performance metrics on a regular basis.
  • Lead investigations into non-conformities or quality incidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Stakeholder management between suppliers, production, development and performance teams.

What you’ll bring
You are ready to join the exciting journey of industrializing a new technology in a growing organization. You are self-motivated, can work under pressure, and on your own initiative, additionally you are able to sometimes make decisions quickly. You thrive using your organizational and technical knowledge when making or influencing decisions. You have excellent communication skills both written and verbal, and your strong knowledge of product and production process planning in manufacturing will be your key to success.

Preferably you have experience with some of these:

  • New equipment introduction.
  • PLC programs and automation.
  • PFMEA experience.
  • Problem-solving tools 4C, and Systematic Problem Solving.
  • MS Office/SAP/SharePoint.
  • Advantage, but not required: Ceramics production, tapecast and screen-printing technology.

  • Experienced Process, production or mechanical engineer.
  • Solution oriented.
  • Analytical.
  • A team player.
