We are seeking a Senior Algo Trader to join our growing Energy trading desk.

About the Job

You will be a part of a dynamic team whose primary responsibility is to develop new strategies and ensure that all algorithms and systems run smoothly on a daily basis. This means setting the direction for the full algorithm life-cycle from inception, through calibration, backtesting, live-implementation, validation and post-release monitoring and optimisation. You will have responsibility for P/L and adjust positions and exposure if applicable - this also includes monitoring outside of business hours. We take pride in maintaining a healthy risk reward trade-off by maximizing revenue under exposure and regulatory constraints.

In addition, you will collaborate closely with our Tech and Quant teams and we expect you to share learnings and work collaboratively across teams. About You

• You have 2-4 years of experience in an energy trading or quantitative analysis role within the Energy sector
• Proven track record analyzing power, oil & gas, energy storage and/or derivatives markets
• You have a Masters or PhD in Economics, Finance, Mathematics or related field
• Excellent skills working with Python/R. Experience with SQL and VBA is a plus
• Structured and accustomed to setting the direction of their work
• Conscientious with an eye for detail, even when tasks become routine or pressured
• Analytical - you love working with numbers and analyzing large data sets
• Can lead and mentor others - you enjoy working in a team and sharing your knowledge
• You take initiative and ownership in your work
