Copenhagen, Copenhagen, Denmark Ramboll Group AS Full time
Internship Opportunity: Join Our Responsible Business Conduct Team in Ramboll Management Consulting

Do you want to change the world and move businesses and society in a sustainable direction?
Are you eager to push the boundaries of your profession and develop your expertise in an open, collaborative, and empowering culture? Would you like to be part of our journey to create a globally leading consultancy within sustainability and strategy? If yes, then you might be the intern we are looking for to join our Responsible Business Conduct team.

Bring your interest in responsible business conduct, human rights, strategy, sustainability, and business development into play as you help deliver integrated and sustainable solutions as a management consulting intern. In this position, you will gain insights into a global consultancy, while obtaining first-hand experience of what it takes to be a management consultant—with a particular focus on supporting our clients with addressing negative human rights impacts in their operations and value chains.

We are passionate about the green transition, circular economy, sustainable finance, and social sustainability. We specialise in business and sustainability consulting across sectors such as energy, infrastructure, construction, manufacturing, waste, and water—advising both private companies and the public sector. We provide sustainability strategies, financial advisory, and implementation as a one-stop shop for our clients. We believe that the true value of our offerings emerges from combining traditional business and strategy consulting with deep sustainability and human rights expertise to form a coherent, impactful solution.

Inviting bright minds to join our Sustainability and ESG Consulting department

As our new colleague, you will be part of a dynamic and international department with an inspiring professional drive and a strong team spirit. Though our educational and cultural backgrounds differ, we share a passion for our work and for serving clients in ways that make a tangible difference. We also enjoy social gatherings outside work, nurturing a collaborative and friendly environment.

As a management consultancy in Ramboll, our projects bridge commercial business understanding with specialised technical and subject-matter expertise. You will be immersed in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary setting, learning about all stages of project work—from tendering to execution. You will be an integral member of our team from day one and supported in your personal and professional growth. Through challenging, complex projects and specialised training, you will enhance your consulting skills and understanding of responsible business conduct.

Potential projects you can be involved in may include:

Alignment with international and national standards for responsible business conduct

  • Assessing companies against the international standards, particularly the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs) and the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises on Responsible Business Conduct
  • Assisting companies towards compliance with sustainability due diligence legislation (e.g., CSDDD, EU Taxonomy Minimum Safeguards, EU Batteries Regulation, EU Forced Labour, the German Supply Chain Act)
  • Monitoring ongoing developments in international standards and national requirements on responsible business conduct

Embedding responsible business conduct into company governance and management

  • Assisting in strategy and policy development
  • Contributing to the design or improvement of grievance mechanisms and other access to remedy processes

Sustainability due diligence

  • Conducting human rights impact assessments
  • Tracking and monitoring social and environmental impacts
  • Developing training materials and guidance on business and human rights

Sustainable economics, finance, and ESG

  • Guiding EU Taxonomy alignment and creating roadmaps for implementation
  • Performing ESG screening and assessments
  • Supporting CSRD reporting processes

Your tasks will vary based on the project scope and your development goals. Typical responsibilities for an intern include research, data and market analysis, competitor reviews, preparing client presentations, drafting reports, and participating in workshops. You will primarily work with our Responsible Business Conduct team but may also engage with colleagues from other areas to ensure a holistic approach for our clients.

For this journey, we believe your starting point is:

  • Currently studying or about to begin your graduate studies or a relevant higher education, typically within business, law, economics, or sustainability
  • Among the best in your class
  • Relevant work experience from student jobs, internships, or extracurricular activities
  • A structured approach with strong analytical and conceptual capabilities
  • Ability to think strategically, have a high level of abstraction, and the ability to put yourself in the client's shoes
  • Ability to work independently, but at the same time be a team player
  • Experience in using PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • Professional proficiency in English (Proficiency in Danish is not mandatory, but it will be beneficial)
