The Danish Pain Research Centre at Faculty of Health at Aarhus University invites applications for a position as an AC TAP within molecular morphology as per 1 July 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter. The position is a fixed-term full-time position for 2.5 years.

Your job responsibilities

As AC-TAP, your primary tasks are to provide technical assistance in the laboratory and to manage procurement and payments. In your daily work, you will have close interaction with competent colleagues.

Your main tasks will consist of:

  • Coding for image analysis using software like ImageJ, Python, and Matlab.
  • Assist with various forms of quantification using digital light microscopy, confocal laser scanning microscopy, light sheet microscopy, and electron microscopy.
  • Assist with various molecular analyses (PCR, western blot, sequencing, transcriptomics, etc.).
  • Assist with developing new research projects within neuropathic pain.
  • Support students and researchers with laboratory experiments in individual project work.
  • Manage procurement and payments according to Aarhus University's regulations.
Your competences

You have a background as a researcher, and you are enthusiastic, team-oriented, well-organized, and able to work independently. It is important that you have practical experience in the listed tasks and that you have relevant training in molecular biology, stereology, coding, managing research projects, and that you have background knowledge on chronic pain. Additionally, it is important that you have experience with analyzing animal and human skin biopsies using stereological principles, specifically for neuronal and non-neuronal cells. You are flexible, responsible, and dedicated, with a willingness to take on new challenges.

As a person, you have good interpersonal skills, are inclusive and team-oriented, and able to contribute to a good work environment. We expect you to be fluent in oral and written English.
