We are looking to strengthen our Gas Trading Team with a Senior Gas Trader in Aalborg or Copenhagen.

About the job

You will get to work with international colleagues who set the bar high and where days are not the same. This is a job where you can develop both on a professional and personal level. As our new Senior Gas Trader, you will be responsible for discretionary trading strategies and your main tasks will be:

  1. Trading the curve on European gas markets, options and related energy products.
  2. Building and executing discretionary trading strategies (outright, time-spread and locational spreads) within given Risk Framework.
  3. Together with our Gas Analysts and Algo Trading Developers supporting the buildout and focus on developing fundamental and systematic trading strategies.
  4. Contributing to trading strategies within the asset portfolio (working together with our asset traders) and participating in portfolio discussions.

About you

You have experience in proprietary trading on the natural gas markets and have a thorough understanding of gas fundamentals and of the broader energy market complex. From your experience you naturally have an excellent understanding of physical and financial trading, market participants and products. You are focused on details and have a result-orientated and enthusiastic mindset. The ideal candidate has:

  1. Strong knowledge and experience within the European gas markets.
  2. A proven track record within discretionary trading strategies.
  3. Excellent analytical skills (analyse market trends based on news and fundamentals).
  4. A commercial focus with the confidence to take on and manage calculated risk.
  5. A team-based mindset with the skillset required to work in a wider trading team.

It would be beneficial if you have proven experience with the below:

  1. Options trading and options theory.
  2. Experience from trading JKM, HH or other energy commodities and markets.
  3. Developing or scoping systematic strategies (algo trading).
