Senior Contract Manager

We are seeking a skilled Senior Contract Manager to join our Global Construction Procurement team at RWE AG. This is a full-time, permanent position that requires the successful candidate to start as soon as possible.

This role will involve supporting one or several of our offshore wind farm projects globally during the construction phase. The primary focus will be on contract management of tier 1 / major contracts. You will work closely with PM and package teams, providing guidance on contractual and commercial issues, identifying risks, and minimizing their impact on the project.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Contract management of high-value, complex contracts to ensure contractual deliverables are met during the construction phase;
  • Closely collaborate with PM and package teams, advising on contractual and commercial issues, identifying risks, and minimizing impacts to the project;
  • Depending on project set-up, undertake a Single Point of Contact (SPOC) role to provide coordination between CM and PM teams with regular meetings during construction phase;
  • Be the single point of contact for the Contractor regarding all contractual and commercial matters, managing respective meetings;
  • Responsible for drafting Employer communications and responding to Contractor's correspondence;
  • Manage change orders, including cost assessment/control;
  • Handle claims, including drafting, substantiation, and negotiation of claims and cost assessment;
  • Address contractual and commercial issues when they arise, such as amendments and settlements made to the main contract. You should have solid experience in contract negotiations;
  • Coordinate all commercial operations for the respective package, such as processing payment applications, forecasting costs, and commercial reporting to the Project;
  • Undertake procurement tasks for the respective package during construction phase, such as procuring additional equipment/tools/scope of work to the package, effective use of SAP; you should have solid experience in tenders/RFQ.

About You:

  • You hold a University degree in technical fields, preferably with an engineering background or business management;
  • You have a minimum of 10-15 years of experience in power plant construction projects, with experience in the offshore market being advantageous;
  • You have experience in drafting, negotiating, and managing high-value and high-risk construction project contracts/claims;
  • You possess good knowledge of SAP and MS Office;
  • You are willing to travel internationally when needed, and you are proficient at collaborating with multiple stakeholders in the construction process;
  • You have intercultural understanding and experience working in an international environment is beneficial;
  • You have very good communication skills in English, both orally and written, with additional language skills being a valuable addition.

Salary: €80,000 - €110,000 per year, depending on experience.
